As a Barclays Data Quality Analyst, will be operating within the Elastic Observability team and will be a key team member working on the delivery and on-going support of the Elastic full stack observability capability within the bank. Elastic full stack observability aims to bring the log and performance data from all of the IT stacks used in the delivery of a service into a single correlated view.

What will you be doing?
• Performing statistical tests on large data sets within Elastic, looking for quality and integrity of the received and stored data
  • Collaborating with senders/generators of data to ensure they appropriately deliver as we expect, aligning to a common schema
  • Executing and constructing searches to identify errors, improvements within alerts/watchers and the data the drives them
  • Working closely with our Data Science and Elastic Engineering teams to provide data quality guidance, driving actions to ensure we have alignment with our approach
  • Evaluating system performance and its effect on data quality and supporting data transformation activities
  • Providing timely reports to Management on the overall status of data quality.
  • Assisting the support team and users with Fullstack Observability issues and queries specifically related to the quality of data received and stored

What we’re looking for
• Has a passion for data analysis and the willingness to drive quality improvements
  • Experience with data modelling and processing. Experience with sampling and analysing high volume of data.
  • Exceptional analytical skills
  • Advance problem solving skills

Skills that will help you in the role:
• Exposure to Event Management or Observability tools. (Example: Elastic, Splunk, Netcool, Nagios, Solarwinds, ITRS, CA SOI, DX Operational Intelligence, Logicmonitor etc)
  • Exposure to systems infrastructure, Operating systems, network, databases, storage devices.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, OpenShift, Kubernetes and VMWare
  • Strong communication, engagement, documentation and governance skills – able to work with teams to ensure the right deliverables are created, communicated and managed

Where will you be working?
You will be based in Radbroke, Knutsford. The Barclays Technology Campus just outside Manchester is our tech command centre and a vital strategic powerhouse behind our global operations. The campus is set in a 64-acre self-contained site, in a beautiful green environment and it offers unrivalled facilities for work and for play. We have an onsite gym, as well as outdoor tennis, football and cricket areas, as well as onsite restaurant and coffee shops.
